Earnings season is in full swing, with 102 companies in the benchmark S&P 500 index reporting this week, according to LSEG. Microsoft, Meta Platforms and Tesla are among the companies due to report today.
ASML (ASML, NL:ASML): The company logged record quarterly orders for its semiconductor-making equipment. Shares rallied 5% in Amsterdam.
SK Hynix (KR:000660): The Nvidia (NVDA) supplier posted record quarterly earnings, as the artificial-intelligence boom continued to fuel strong demand for memory chips. Shares rose 5% in Seoul.
LVMH (FR:MC): The French luxury-goods conglomerate reported sluggish sales growth for the important holiday quarter. The stock sold off, as did other European luxury stocks such as Kering (FR:KER).
GE Vernova (GEV): The natural-gas turbine maker is due to post earnings this morning. Shares rose about 1.5% in premarket trading.
Meta Platforms (META): The Facebook parent is due to issue quarterly results late Wednesday, as are Microsoft $(MSFT)$ and Tesla $(TSLA)$.
