IT之家 1 月 26 日消息，韩媒 NEWSTOP 当地时间本月 15 日报道称，全球显示巨头 LG Display 正与韩国合作伙伴携手开发半导体先进封装所需的玻璃中介层 (Interposer)，寻求传统业务外的新增长点。

中介层是玻璃在半导体先进封装领域的两大应用场景之一（IT之家注：另一个是玻璃芯基板）。目前的中介层基于硅材料，这意味着其同样是一种晶圆制品，存在价格昂贵、最大面积有限、原材料利用效率低等问题。
与玻璃（芯）基板的优势类似，玻璃中介层能实现更大的单体面积，同时具有高面板利用率。不过中介层的应用场景也对 TGV（IT之家注：玻璃通孔）等电气结构的素质提出了更高要求。
LG Display 在玻璃中介层领域的合作方包括 JWMT、JNTC 等半导体材料供应链企业。LG Display 目前正在考虑利用哪条生产线进行初步生产。
