1月31日，美国游戏零售商游戏驿站首席执行官瑞安·科恩表示，公司正考虑进行一项重大收购，目标或为一家上市公司，收购方向可能集中在消费或零售领域。
科恩在周四刊登的专访中称，消费与零售行业一直是其职业生涯的重要关注点，他希望将目前市值约110亿美元的游戏驿站打造为“市值超过1000亿美元的巨无霸企业”。他强调，未来的交易规模将会“非常大”，并坦言这项决定“最终要么是天才之举，要么就是彻头彻尾的愚蠢”。
他透露，正在评估少数几家公司，但暂未披露具体名称，并计划在不久后主动接触潜在收购目标。财务层面，游戏驿站资产负债表上拥有约90亿美元的现金及流动证券，为潜在并购提供了充足资金支持。
科恩的表态也引发市场关注。知名投资者迈克尔·伯里作为游戏驿站股东，本周一曾公开称赞科恩在资本配置方面保持克制，并认为潜在收购将成为提升股东价值的重要驱动力。
