Another huge technology company, Apple, is set to post quarterly earnings after results from Tesla, Microsoft and Meta Platforms. Plus, a reading on supplier inflation is due. Here is what to watch:

Today

-- Earnings: Apple, Blackstone, Caterpillar, Comcast, Lockheed Martin, Mastercard, Norfolk Southern, Visa

-- Economic data: Revised productivity data; trade figures for November; factory orders for November; weekly jobless claims

Tomorrow

-- Earnings: American Express, Chevron, Exxon Mobil, Regeneron, Verizon

-- Economic data: Producer-price index for December

-- Federal Reserve speaker: Vice Chair for Supervision Michelle Bowman is scheduled to speak about monetary policy and regulation at 5 p.m. ET.

Saturday, Jan. 31

-- Washington: Federal government funding is set to expire at 12:01 a.m. Senate Democrats have signaled they would be willing to accept another shutdown rather than vote for immigration enforcement funding.
