Shares of York Space Systems are set to make their trading debut Thursday after the defense contractor's upsized initial public offering was priced at the high end of expectations, giving it an initial market capitalization approaching $5 billion.
York late Wednesday said it is selling 18.5 million shares at $34 apiece, after previously laying out plans to offer 16 million shares at between $30 and $34 each.
The Denver company, which is backed by private-equity firm AE Industrial Partners, has granted the underwriters a 30-day option to buy up to an additional 2.8 million shares.
York would have about 145.6 million shares outstanding after the IPO, assuming an exercise of the overallotment option, for a market capitalization of around $4.96 billion at the $34-a-share pricing.
York shares are slated to begin trading later Thursday on the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol YSS.
