Federal Bureau of Investigation agents on Wednesday searched an election office in Fulton County, Georgia, a site that was one of President Trump's main focuses in his efforts to overturn his 2020 presidential loss.
The bureau confirmed its agents were executing a "court authorized law enforcement action" at the county's main election center just south of Atlanta but offered no other details.
The search comes as the FBI and Justice Department under Trump have moved quickly to pursue investigations into his perceived enemies and political grievances, including his 2020 election loss to Joe Biden. Trump alleged repeatedly that Fulton County, Georgia's most populous, had produced fraudulent results and urged various officials to help him overturn his narrow defeat in the state.
Trump said last week that "people will soon be prosecuted" for "rigging" the 2020 election.
The Justice Department last month sued the Fulton County clerk in an effort to obtain and examine 2020 election records.
