U.S. Natural Gas Futures Pick Up After Selloff -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Feb 04

1517 ET - U.S. natural gas futures recover some of yesterday's big losses that were prompted by warmer weather forecasts for mid-February. "Gains are likely due to profit-taking or technically oversold conditions after yesterday's extreme plunge," NatGasWeather.com says in a note. A recovery in LNG feedgas flows has partly offset the return of production from last week's freeze-offs, the forecaster says. "There's still plenty of winter to go and with potential for larger than normal [storage] draws to return after the warmer mid-February pattern plays out." Nymex natural gas rises 2.3% to $3.311/mmBtu.(anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
