Rex International's (SGX:5WH) indirect subsidiary, Akrake Petroleum Benin, successfully concluded the drilling of the AK-2H production well in the Sèmè Field in Benin, according to a Tuesday filing with the Singapore Exchange.
Around 1,405 meters were drilled horizontally through the reservoir section, with no water-bearing sand encountered during the process. The reservoir quality showed around 70% average oil saturation and 19% average porosity.
The well has now been fitted with specialized screens and an autonomous inflow control valves (AICVs) to prevent sand from entering the well.
The company has also commenced work to connect the well to a mobile offshore production unit and a floating storage vessel, the filing added.
