Naver is scheduled to report its fourth-quarter results on Friday. Here is what you need to know:
NET PROFIT FORECAST: The South Korean internet-platform company is expected to post net profit of 508.27 billion won, equivalent to $350.4 million, for the October-December period, according to the consensus estimate of 17 analysts polled by FactSet.
REVENUE FORECAST: Naver is expected to report quarterly revenue of 3.265 trillion won and operating profit of 601.94 billion won, higher than a year earlier.
Shares in Naver have risen 8.9% this year, underperforming the benchmark Kospi's 27% gain.
WHAT TO WATCH:
--SOFTER QUARTER: The projected net profit for the fourth quarter is slightly softer than the year-earlier result and significantly weaker than the previous quarter's net. Daiwa Capital analysts recently said fewer working days in October because of the Chuseok holiday might have weighed on earnings and revenue growth.
--RECORD 2025: Still, investors are looking to see if the company will post record annual revenue and operating profit, driven by solid growth in its search-platform and e-commerce segments.
--AI: Naver's artificial-intelligence infrastructure investments and relevant initiatives will also be closely watched as the company has stepped up its AI push.
