VenHub Global (VHUB) said Monday it appointed Ian Rasmussen as executive vice president of global expansion and partnerships.

Rasmussen joins the company after almost a decade at Amazon's (AMZN) Amazon Web Services business, where he played a "key role in expanding" Amazon's Just Walk Out and related checkout technologies across the energy and convenience sectors.

VenHub shares surged 36% as intraday trading volume soared to over 8.74 million from a daily average of roughly 2.8 million.

Brookfield Asset Management (BAM) and Peakstone Realty Trust (PKST) unveiled on Monday a definitive deal in which a Brookfield private real estate fund will acquire Peakstone Realty Trust for $21 per share in cash, implying an enterprise value of about $1.2 billion.

Peakstone shares soared 33% as intraday trading volume climbed to more than 7.9 million from a daily average of about 215,000.

Columbia Financial (CLBK) has agreed to acquire Northfield Bancorp (NFBK) in a transaction valued at $597 million.

Shares of Northfield Bancorp jumped 11%, with intraday trading volume at over 904,000 compared with a daily average of about 182,000.
