0835 ET - Disney's decision to appoint Josh D'Amaro as chief executive brings to the helm an executive with expertise in its theme parks. D'Amaro chairs Disney's Experiences unit, which includes theme parks, consumer products, cruise ships and videogames. Theme parks have become a more important part of Disney's business as TV is bringing in less revenue and streaming is less profitable than traditional TV was. D'Amaro is interested in ramping up the role of videogames in the business, WSJ has reported. His appointment comes as Disney is taking on a $60 billion expansion of its theme parks.
