Gold Miners' Shares Fall as Gold Tumbles After Trump's US Fed Nomination

Shares of Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST), Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN), and Newmont (ASX:NEM) fell around 6%, 5%, and 7%, respectively, in Monday's trade, as gold tumbled past 10% from last week's record highs after US President Donald Trump nominated Kevin Warsh as US Federal Reserve chairman.
Spot gold is trading just below $4,900 an ounce, down from a record high of around $5,500 reached mid last week.
