当地时间2月1日，墨西哥总统辛鲍姆宣布，计划向古巴运送人道主义援助物资，包括食品和其他基本产品，同时正“通过一切外交渠道”寻求在美方限制措施下恢复向古巴运送石油的途径。

1月31日晚，美国总统特朗普公开表示已要求辛鲍姆停止向古巴输送石油。同日，墨西哥外交部长德拉富恩特回应说，墨西哥不会暂停对古巴的人道主义援助。（总台记者 马天静）
