McDonald's Set to Overperform With Momentum Continuing in 2026 -- Market Talk

1237 ET - McDonald's 4Q results will likely beat expectations and the company is set up well to continue performing in 2026, say UBS analysts. Many investors are expecting U.S. 4Q same-store sales of 6% to 7%, above consensus of 4.8%, driven by the Grinch Meal and Monopoly Game promotions and the new Extra Value Meal pricing. That momentum should continue in the first quarter and beyond due to menu innovation-including new beverage launches-marketing and strengthening value perceptions from the Extra Value Meal. The new pricing of the Extra Value Meal should lead to guest growth over time, offsetting smaller checks, the analysts say. (nicholas.miller@wsj.com)
