Aurum Resources (ASX:AUE) said that its ongoing diamond drilling program at the Boundiali gold project in the Ivory Coast encountered high-grade mineralization 200 meters vertically below a drill hole and 135 meters below the current resource model, according to a Thursday Australian bourse filing.

It encountered intercepts of 12 meters at 7.52 grams per tonne grade of gold from 394 meters, as well as 0.72 meters at 11.98 g/t grade of gold from 15 meters.

Reconnaissance drilling confirmed gold mineralization 700 meters north-northwest of the BDT1 deposit limits. Aurum is planning follow-up drilling to define the scale of this extension and its structural relationship to the core BDT1 mineralization.

Its shares fell 6% in recent trading on Thursday.
