Shares for Amtech Systems fell after the company reported lower first-quarter earnings and revenue.

The stock declined 30% lower to $11.07 in Friday afternoon trading. Shares are down 12% year to date.

The technology manufacturing company on Thursday reported quarterly earnings of $100,000, or 1 cent a share, compared with $300,000, or 2 cents a share, in the same quarter last year.

Revenue was $19 million for the quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with $24.4 million in the year-ago quarter.

Adjusted earnings were 3 cents a share.

Amtech said it had customer orders of $20.7 million in the first quarter, and ended the quarter with a backlog of $21.6 million.

Equipment demand for artificial intelligence infrastructure was strong in the quarter, the company said, and accounted for 35% of its Thermal Processing Solutions segment revenue, up from 30% in the prior quarter.

The company also said it expects strength in demand for equipment powering AI applications to result in increased bookings on a sequential quarterly basis through the end of fiscal 2026.
