U.S. Natural Gas Futures Gain Ahead of Storage Report -- Market Talk

Feb 05

0933 ET - U.S. natural gas futures are higher with the market watching for the EIA's weekly storage report due at 10:30 a.m. ET. A record withdrawal is expected, according to a WSJ survey of analysts, reflecting high demand and production losses during winter storm Fern. Warmer weather for later in the month is expected to cap further price gains. The prospect of a supply deficit is likely prompting this week's sharp rebound from Monday's lows, Ritterbusch and Associates says in a note. Nymex natural gas is up 2.3% at $3.546/mmBtu.(anthony.harrup@wsj.com)
