Rheinmetall Leads Falls in European Defense Stocks -- Market Talk

1021 GMT - German arms maker Rheinmetall leads the falls in European defense stocks. Shares fall 7.7% after the company issued preliminary 2026 estimates that failed to meet analysts' consensus estimates. Defense industry shares are also falling broadly on the second day of the latest round of talks for a Russia-Ukraine peace deal. Frankfurt-listed Renk Group and Hensoldt drop 3% and 2.8%, respectively. In Paris, Thales loses 2.5% while Dassault Aviation falls 2.2%. Other fallers include Babcock International Group, BAE Systems and Leonardo. (cristina.gallardo@wsj.com)
