Compass Group's Weak Share Performance Might Stem From AI Fears -- Market Talk

1028 GMT - Compass Group's weak shares performance--hovering back around early 2024 levels--might be due to AI's threat to jobs, Shore Capital equity analyst Greg Johnson writes in a note. "We do wonder if the weakness also partly reflects concerns over the direction of the U.S. labour market, and specifically around the AI threat to jobs, especially in financial/professional services," Johnson writes. But, the area of the business is worth only 10% of revenues, and U.S. peer $Aramark(ARMK-W)$ remains unmoved, he writes. Shares are down 2.8% at 21.60 pounds. (aimee.look@wsj.com)
