0449 GMT - Hanwha Ocean could post strong earnings growth in 2026 on solid new contract wins, Nomura's Eon Hwang says. The South Korean shipbuilder is expected to win $13.5 billion of new contracts, up 34.3% from 2025, given its business opportunity with the U.S. Navy, the analyst says. He also sees a potential upside risk, citing Hanwha's bid for the estimated $24 billion Canadian patrol submarine project. With its bidding results due in the second quarter, Hanwha's potential win appears already reflected in its current valuation, he adds. Nomura expects operating profit to jump 65% to 1.8 trillion won and revenue to grow 13% to 14.4 trillion won in 2026. (kwanwoo.jun@wsj.com)
