Canyon Resources Says Cameroon Bauxite Project Surface Miner Commissioning Scheduled for February

Canyon Resources (ASX:CAY) said the commissioning of the surface miner at the Minim Martap bauxite project in Cameroon is scheduled for February, according to a Friday Australian bourse filing.

Upgrade works on the haul road connecting the Danielle Plateau to the Inland Rail Facility are progressing to plan, and the haul road remains on schedule to support the start of ore haulage from the mine in the second quarter.

Meanwhile, CRRC Ziyang advised the firm that component delivery delays and downtime due to the Chinese New Year will result in two locomotives being delivered to Douala late in the June quarter.

The feasibility study for the proposed value-adding alumina refinery remains on schedule, the filing added.
