Anson Resources (ASX:ASN) has confirmed lithium-rich brines in the Mississippian units at its Green River lithium project in Utah, intersecting the horizon at 9,189 feet during the re-entry of the Mt Fuel-Skyline Geyser well through its subsidiary Blackstone Minerals, according to a Friday filing with the Australian bourse.
Small chloride inflows were encountered while drilling through the target horizon with oil-based muds, and samples were collected for fluid separation and analysis, per the filing.
The program aims to expand the Joint Ore Reserves Committee mineral resource by converting the exploration target into indicated and inferred resources, based on the brine geochemistry and the potential for lithium and bromine mineralization in the northern Paradox Basin, the filing added.
The company's shares fell 4% in recent Friday trade.
