1045 GMT - Kroger shares jump 6.7% in premarket trading after The Wall Street Journal reported that the grocer plans to appoint Greg Foran as its next chief executive. The appointment of the former Walmart executive will end a search lasting almost a year. Chairman Ron Sargent served as CEO over that time on an interim basis following the departure of Rodney McMullen over an ethics violation. Foran led Air New Zealand through the pandemic until last October, before which he spent five years as chief executive of Walmart's U.S. business. (josephmichael.stonor@wsj.com)
