SoftBank Group's Nine-Month Net Income Nearly Five-Folds

SoftBank Group's (TYO:9984)net income attributable to owners of the parent soared 399% to 3.173 trillion yen for the nine months ended Dec. 31, 2025, from 636.2 trillion yen a year earlier, boosted by investment gains on OpenAI.
The internet services company's earnings per share increased to 552.86 yen from 106.33 yen a year ago, according to a Tokyo bourse filing on Thursday.
Net sales rose 7.9% to 5.719 trillion yen from 5.303 trillion yen in the year-ago period.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2026, the company did not provide forecasts of consolidated results of operations as they are difficult to project due to numerous uncertainties affecting earnings.
