SAN-A (TYO:2659) said its board approved the construction of a new food processing center and head office in Okinawa, with total investment of about 54 billion yen, according to a Monday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The facilities, to be built on company-owned land in Ginowan, are intended to address capacity constraints at aging sites and support the retailer's expanding store network. The project will consolidate manufacturing and logistics functions, lift productivity through automation, and strengthen product quality and supply reliability.
The development will include a five-story steel-framed food processing center and head office, along with a six-story parking structure. Construction is scheduled to start in February, with operations expected to begin in September 2028.
