Health care stocks were edging higher premarket Monday, with the iShares Biotechnology ETF (IBB) advancing by 0.3% and the State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF (XLV) up 0.2%.
Novo Nordisk (NVO) said it has filed a lawsuit against Hims & Hers (HIMS) for alleged patent infringement over the telehealth company's mass marketing of unapproved versions of Novo's semaglutide products, Wegovy and Ozempic. Novo Nordisk stock was up more than 4% pre-bell.
Hims & Hers shares were down more than 23% after the company said over the weekend that it would stop offering its weight-loss drug.
Becton Dickinson (BDX) stock was down nearly 3% after the company reported a decline in fiscal Q1 adjusted earnings, and lowered its fiscal 2026 adjusted earnings per share guidance.
