Amazon Discloses 5.3% Stake in Beta Technologies

Amazon disclosed a 5.3% stake in Beta Technologies, an electric aerospace company.

Amazon.com NV Investment Holdings, a subsidiary of Amazon, owns about 11.8 million shares in Beta, according to a Tuesday filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

Beta designs, manufactures and sells electric aircraft, electric propulsion systems, components and charging systems. The Vermont-based company went public last year.

Shares of Beta climbed 20%, to $20.12, in after-hours trading. Through market close, shares have slid 51% in the past three months.
