Xstate Resources (ASX:XST) and its joint venture partner, Elixir Energy (ASX:EXR), are set to secure equipment and contractors to conduct a formation stimulation and testing program covering Permian targets from the Bandana formation to the Wallabella Wash, at the Diona Block within ATP 2077 located in Queensland's Surat-Bowen Basin, according to a Monday Australian bourse filing.
Specialized rock typing has been undertaken over drill cuttings at the key reservoir levels, and the analysis identified good visual porosity and indications of permeability in a number of the zones proposed for testing.
Xstate owns a 51% stake in ATP 2077, while Elixir Energy retains a 100% beneficial ownership in blocks A and B. Elixir is the operator of ATP 2077.
Xstate's shares rose 5% in recent trading on Monday, while those of Elixir climbed 8%.
