KLab Buys Gold ETF, Holds Off on Bitcoin

KLab (TYO:3656) bought additional units of a gold exchange-traded fund while making no bitcoin purchases between Feb. 2 and Feb. 6, according to a Monday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

The mobile games company spent about 81.8 million yen to acquire 3,450 units of the domestically stored physical gold ETF during the period.

As of Feb. 6, KLab held 22.46 bitcoin and 11,635 gold ETF units. The holdings were valued at about 10.4 million yen per bitcoin and 23,645 yen per gold unit, resulting in an unrealized loss of about 80 million yen on bitcoin and 1.6 million yen on gold.

Gold accounted for 54.1% of the portfolio, with bitcoin making up the remaining 45.9%, the company said.
