** WSJ reports Kroger plans to hire Greg Foran, former president and CEO of Walmart's WMT.O U.S. operations
** Kroger has been on the lookout for a new CEO since 2025 when it ousted Rodney McMullen after a board investigation found his personal conduct was "inconsistent" with certain company policies
** "If confirmed, we believe Greg Foran would be a good hire, as a strong grocery/retail executive who is known for his detail-oriented approach to running stores and service," Morgan Stanley analysts said in a note
** Foran also served as CEO of Air New Zealand AIR.NZ from February 2020 to October 2025
** Kroger is expected to announce the choice as soon as Monday, the WSJ report added
** YTD, KR up 8% as of last close
