智通财经APP获悉，诺和诺德(NVO.US)计划加大在爱尔兰的投资，在当地生产其畅销减肥药Wegovy的口服版本，以供应美国以外的市场。诺和诺德首席执行官迈克·杜斯达尔表示，诺和诺德将扩建其位于爱尔兰中部阿斯隆(Athlone)的生产设施。但他拒绝透露投资规模。
杜斯达尔称，Wegovy口服药于1月初上市，成为有史以来最成功的药品首发之一，目前已有超过24万名美国患者服用。诺和诺德目前在美国本土生产供应美国市场的减肥药口服版本。尽管减肥药市场的价格战正在加剧，但诺和诺德希望，这款口服药将成为其重夺曾经主导的减肥市场的重要武器，并弥补与竞争对手礼来(LLY.US)之间的差距。杜斯达尔表示：“如果我们准备放弃，就不会在爱尔兰投资建厂。”
爱尔兰是全球制药制造中心之一。礼来在当地生产其重磅减肥和糖尿病药物的活性成分。此外，该国经济高度依赖美国投资，同时也处于美国总统特朗普关税威胁的焦点之中。
