Ryanair (RYAAY) has been warned by a Spanish court that it could face criminal liability if it continues to disobey court orders in a legal dispute with travel subscription platform eDreams ODIGEO over alleged unfair competition, eDreams said Wednesday.
The Commercial Court No. 12 of Barcelona ruled that the airline must immediately comply with mandates issued in July, which found that Ryanair had engaged in acts of unfair competition by denigrating eDreams and ordered it to stop, eDreams said.
The new court said Ryanair continued to publish denigrating content despite that ruling, eDreams added.
eDreams said that, under a new provisional enforcement order, Ryanair has 10 days to cease all denigration, remove unlawful content from its website and social media platforms, and publish a public rectification on its corporate website.
The judge also ordered the airline to "refrain from reiterating the breach of the ruling," eDreams said.
Ryanair did not immediately respond to MT Newswires' request for comment.
