Budweiser Brewing Co. APAC Set on Rebuilding China Market Share -- Market Talk

Dow Jones
Feb 12

0956 GMT - Budweiser Brewing Co. APAC appears set to rebuild its China market share, Citi's Xiaopo Wei says in a note. The analyst points to various levers Budweiser executives listed on the earnings call to drive revenue this year, such as building presence in emerging channels like instant retail. He notes management comments that 2026's sales momentum is similar to 4Q's, with market share stabilizing. Management also indicated that 4Q channel inventories fell on year, leaving the brewer better placed ahead of the Lunar New Year, Wei writes. Another positive is that management expects "only small headwinds" on unit cost this year, given its hedging of key soft commodities and relatively stable barley prices. Citi maintains a buy call and HK$11.40 target price. Shares close at HK$7.83. (jason.chau@wsj.com)
