在美国总统唐纳德·特朗普试图夺取格陵兰而引发联盟危机后，北约将通过一项新任务加强在北极地区的存在。
北大西洋公约组织（NATO）周三宣布启动这项名为“北极哨兵”的任务，正值该组织防长们将在布鲁塞尔举行会议的前一天。
就在几周前，特朗普对北约盟国丹麦属地格陵兰的言论将跨大西洋伙伴关系推向破裂边缘。在与北约秘书长马克·吕特会晤后，特朗普最终暂时退让。
北约表示，“北极哨兵”任务基于上述会议，将有助于联盟更好地协调在该地区的行动。
这个议题必然会在周四会议上被提及。
自今年1月特朗普坚持要求允许其夺取格陵兰以来，北约一直在加强其在北极的存在。随着全球变暖使更多地区和航道开放，这座大部分被冰覆盖的岛屿变得愈发具有战略重要性。
