Healthcare Hiring Continues to Support U.S. Job Market -- Market Talk

0840 ET - The healthcare industry added more than 123,000 jobs last month, showing how that sector continued to support the broader labor market. But job gains were fairly broad based. Manufacturing added 5,000 jobs, a decent sign for a sector that has suffered. The private education sector added about 13,000 jobs. The federal government continued to shed jobs, losing 34,000 workers. (matt.grossman@wsj.com; @mattgrossman)
