Communications Services Down as Netflix Slides - Communications Services Roundup

Communications-services fell as a potential deal collapse weighed on Netflix, offsetting bumper earnings from one major carrier.

T-Mobile US logged lower profit despite higher revenue in its latest quarter as the continued to add subscribers for its most lucrative phone offering. Shares of T-Mobile rallied.

AT&T and Verizon rose in sympathy.

Warner Bros Discovery ticked up after activist investment firm Ancora disclosed a stake in the company and pushed management to reject a merger deal with Netflix, threatening to mount a proxy fight unless more consideration was given to Paramount Skydance's rival bid.

Paramount recently sweetened the bid by offering to pay Warner's termination fee on the Netflix deal.

AppLovin shares fell after the maker of mobile advertising technology posted quarterly earnings shy of some investors' lofty expectations.
