路透华盛顿2月11日 - 两名民主党参议员要求商务部解释，为何迫使以国家安全为由实际上禁止几乎所有中国汽车进入美国市场的官员及其副手离职。
据路透看到的一封信函显示，参议员沃伦和沃纳敦促商务部长卢特尼克就相关报导作出回应。报导称该部门迫使"致力于应对中国对美国技术供应链和通信基础设施实施情报及网络威胁的关键国家安全官员辞职"。
路透之前报导称，信息通信技术与服务办公室执行主任Elizabeth Cannon今年1月同意辞职。该办公室成立于2022年，旨在调查外国对手对供应链构成的威胁。
两位参议员表示，削弱该办公室"且迫使其领导层辞职，明确传递出本届政府并不将真正对抗中国作为优先事项"的信号。
Cannon及商务部暂未回应置评请求。两位参议员表示，该办公室负责应对"盐台风"等网络攻击的美国网络防御工作，官员的离职"剥夺了该办公室抵御日益加剧的国家安全和网络威胁所需的领导力和机构专业知识"。（完）
