Amazon.com-owned (AMZN) Ring and Flock Safety said Thursday that they have jointly decided to cancel their plan to integrate Ring's Community Requests feature with Flock's platforms.

Ring said it determined that the integration would require significantly more time and resources than initially expected.

Separately, Flock Safety said it made the decision after discussions with customers, public officials and community stakeholders to understand expectations around accountability, transparency and lawful use.

The integration would have allowed video sharing with public safety agencies during active investigations. Ring said no customer videos were shared with Flock Safety as the integration never launched.
