Alliance Entertainment Shares Down After 2Q Revenue Declines

Shares of Alliance Entertainment fell after the company logged lower revenue in the second quarter.

The stock fell 23% to $4.91 in midday trading Friday. The shares have fallen around 3.7% in the past year.

The distributor of music, movies and consumer electronics posted a second-quarter profit of $9.4 million, or 18 cents a share, compared with $7.1 million, or 14 cents a share, a year earlier.

Revenue fell 6.4% to $368.7 million.

Alliance Entertainment said total operating expenses rose modestly, driven by investments in technology, personnel and infrastructure designed to support exclusive content partnerships and long-term scalability.
