China Eastern Airlines' Passenger Count Slides 3.8% in January

China Eastern Airlines' (SHA:600115, HKG:0670) passenger count slipped 3.8% to about 12.2 million in January, from 12.7 million in the year-ago period, according to a Friday filing with the Hong Kong bourse.

Passenger capacity fell 3.5% to about 26.8 billion available seat kilometers from 27.8 billion available seat-kilometers in the prior-year period.

Cargo capacity declined 6.2% year over year to 917.8 million available freight ton-kilometers from 978.2 million available freight-ton kilometers.

Cargo carried jumped 1.3% year on year to 98.8 million kilograms from 97.5 million kilograms previously.
