Chang lager maker ThaiBev's first-quarter earnings rise 1.8%

Feb 13 (Reuters) - Singapore-listed Thai Beverage TBEV.SI reported a 1.8% rise in first-quarter earnings on Friday, buoyed by strong performance at its beer and spirits businesses.

ThaiBev, brewer of the popular Chang beer, posted earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) of 16.75 billion baht ($538.24 million) for the quarter ended December 31, compared with 16.44 billion baht reported a year ago.
