Shares of Northern Star Resources (ASX:NST) and Evolution Mining (ASX:EVN) rose around 1% and 2%, respectively, in recent Friday trade, as gold extended gains amid escalating Middle East tensions and a renewed rush into safe-haven assets.
Spot gold rose above $5,000 an ounce on Friday.
