Shares of Floor & Decor Holdings rose after the company reported higher revenue in its latest quarter, helped by market share gains.
The stock gained 5.9% to $70.04 in after-hours trading on Thursday. Through market close, shares have slid 31% in the past year.
The flooring retailer posted a profit of $39.3 million, or 36 cents a share, compared with $47.5 million, or 44 cents a share, a year earlier. Analysts polled by FactSet had forecast 34 cents a share.
Revenue rose 2% to $1.13 billion, about in line with analyst estimates.
Same-store sales decreased 4.8%, compared with estimates of a 2.9% decline. The company said the figure has been pressured by softness in existing home sales activity, but it has expanded its market share.
For the full year, the company guided for earnings per share of $1.98 to $2.18 on sales of about $4.88 billion to $5.03 billion. Analysts were looking for earnings of $2.14 a share and sales of $5.03 billion.
