Eurozone Bond Yields Edge Up, Unfazed by Report Lagarde Could Leave ECB Early -- Market Talk

0822 GMT - Eurozone government bond yields rise in early trade, tracking U.S. Treasurys, showing no reaction to an unconfirmed report, initially reported by the Financial Times, that European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde could terminate her mandate before it ends in October 2027. "The next ECB president could have long-term consequences for policy," Citi rates strategists say in a note. Wednesday's data calendar is thin and so is sovereign-bond issuance, with only Germany holding an auction for the February 2036 Bund. The 10-year Bund yield rises 0.9 basis points to 2.750%, according to LSEG. (emese.bartha@wsj.com)
