Bank of Nova Scotia's (BNS) 1832 Asset Management subsidiary has offloaded its stake in Elbit Systems (ESLT), according to a Friday filing from the unit.

The filing listed 1832 Asset Management's shareholdings in other companies and the list does not include Elbit Systems. Reuters reported Monday that the unit disclosed in November a holding of about 165,000 shares in Elbit Systems.

According to the report, Bank of Nova Scotia has faced backlash for its exposure in Elbit Systems, which is an Israel-based defense technology company.
