Toyota Motor's (TM) Australian unit said Wednesday it will recall roughly 11,000 LandCruiser 300 vehicles due to a potential transmission software issue that may increase the risk of a collision or fire.
The recall covers vehicles with 10-speed automatic transmission that may fail to communicate a faulty solenoid to the engine, causing over-revving, loss of motive power, and potential fluid leaks, Toyota Australia said.
Dealerships will reprogram the transmission ECT-ECU software free of charge, the company said.
