Fed Minutes Suggest Downward Pressure On Inflation -- Market Talk

1425 ET - Minutes of January's FOMC meeting show participants generally expected that the effects of tariffs on core goods prices would likely start to diminish this year. "Several" participants remarked that the ongoing moderation in inflation for housing services was likely to continue to exert downward pressure on overall inflation. Meanwhile, several participants expected that higher productivity growth associated with tech or regulatory developments would put downward pressure on inflation.
