Coronado Global Resources CEO to Resign; Shares Fall 7%

Coronado Global Resources (ASX:CRN) said that Chief Executive Douglas Thompson has notified the company of his decision to resign to pursue new opportunities, according to a Monday filing with the Australian bourse.

Executive Chair Gerry Spindler will assume the role of interim CEO following Thompson's departure, with Greg Pritchard transitioning to interim chair of the board, per the filing.

The board has begun a formal search for a new CEO, with Thompson staying on during the transition period to ensure continuity, the filing said.

Additionally, Chief Development Officer Jeff Bitzer will step back from full-time duties on Feb. 28 and continue part-time from March 1, focusing on major projects, the filing added.

The company's shares fell 7% in recent Monday trade.
