BHP Group's (ASX:BHP) shares rose nearly 2% in early trading to AU$55.08 per share on Tuesday, reaching a record high, boosted by safe-haven demand for gold and silver.
Gold rose around 2.5% to $5,241.24 per ounce, and silver jumped over $88 an ounce after US President Donald Trump announced a 15% tariff on all imports into the US.
