China Passenger Trips Set to Peak to 18.5 Million on Last Day of Lunar New Year, Railway Operator Says

China was forecast to have recorded a peak of 18.5 million trips in its railway system on Monday, the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, Xinhua News Agency reported the same day, citing the China State Railway Group.

The number is seen to be higher than the 18.3 million trips made Sunday, according to the report.

China State Railway also deployed an additional 2,297 trains for the last day of the Lunar New Year festivities, according to Xinhua.
